Preparation For Your Wedding Night
Preparation For Your Wedding Night is very important for both the bride and groom. I have previously discussed the actual
wedding night
and
wedding night sex
, but perhaps we should take a step back and discuss the expectations of sex in marriage. This I believe is applicable to both virgins and those who are sexually active.
Preparation For Your Wedding Night: Sexual Expectations
It will be according to your upbringing, religion, or tradition if you are able to talk to your partner about the following.
- what are your expectations of sex in your marriage?
- do you have similar libidos (sex drive)?
- do you have similar lusts/fantasies?
- is it your intention to be faithful?
- if it is not your intention to be faithful how jealous are both of you?
- have you had a similar exposure to sex?
- do you find it difficult to talk about sex?
- does your partner find it difficult to talk about sex?
- how would you both cope with sexual difficulties in your marriage?
- have you discussed contraception?
- have you discussed the type of contraception you would use?
- have you discussed starting a family
- is it your intention to try starting for a family immediately?
- are you both financially in a position to start for a family immediately?
Preparation For Your Wedding Night: Sexual Discussion Taboo?
If you are not able to talk openly to your partner then you should consider how well you know your partner. You may find some answers by examining:
- his background
- exposure in society
- age
- education
- grooming
- exposure to culture
- whether there has been a previous partner
Preparation For Your Wedding Night: Finding Out
How far are you prepared to go to find out about your partners sexual past? Is it of relevance to you? Should the past be left in the past, or could it have a bearing upon your union? Some individuals/couples may consider the following:
- blood test to detect any sexually transmitted diseases, HIV, AIDS
- private detection to ascertain if there is any impediment to marriage
- private detection to ascertain if there are any offspring legitimate or illegitimate
- private detection to ascertain if there is a criminal record for sexual offences
- private detection to ascertain if there is sexual activity outside the union/infidelity
- examination to prove virginity
- tests to prove ability to conceive
Preparation For Your Wedding Night: Traditions
Every culture has its own traditions. However embarrassed you may be, be assured you will survive as have every other married couple before you.
If you feel too shy to start a conversation then print this page and use it as a discussion point or checklist. The more open you are able to be with each other the greater sexual satisfaction you will be able to achieve with each other. Preparation for your wedding night should not be treated flippantly as it may well have a bearing on your future happiness.
