Alternative DIY Wedding Favors: to give something a little different or unusual that you have made, or customized, is a great honor for the recipient. You may choose to make something in keeping with the theme of your wedding. Alternatively you may choose to make something corresponding with the season in which you are getting married. - make a miniature Xmas cake

- design and have a commemorative wedding stamp made
- write a commemorative poem/song, incorporating the names of all your guests
- embroider a wedding sentiment, or wedding joke

- give a CD of your wedding music
- on a scroll of parchment give a copy of your wedding vows to each other
- make a picture frame and put a picture of yourselves in it
- research and give a copy of your family trees
- give a copy of the wedding poems you had read

Alternative DIY Wedding Favors: Miscellaneous

- design a coaster, or placemat and have them laminated (possibly a picture of the bride and groom with the date of the wedding)
- make a preserve/flavored cooking oil
- give a lottery ticket or scratch card

Prior to deciding upon your alternative DIY wedding favors remember to consider the number of guests you have invited. On the one hand bulk-buying materials can reduce your costs, higher numbers for printing may also bring the price down. On the other hand increased numbers may also have the opposite effect.
